It’s 22.59 on a Monday evening and it’s just occurred to me that it’s nearly our birthday (kind of!)! I’m writing this about a week or two before it goes online, as hopefully on the 10th February I’ll be gearing up for my second week at University in the Netherlands. (It feels so far away right now but I know it’ll be here before I know it!)
Anyway, blabbering aside I can’t believe it’s been 6 months since I began The Temporary Resident. Every month this community grows and every month I’m surprised people keep coming back, whatever the reason I’m glad people are enjoying TTR and hope it has brought some people some smiles too. I truly have found my passion here and will continue trying to write with love, honesty and a little bit of laughter.
As much as I do love TTR and nothing makes me happier than seeing that people have found my writing interesting or as a good way to pass a few minutes, I don’t mind telling you that there’s also been a lot of hard work, money and late nights involved in getting this little blog to where it is today! I’ve learned so much already and I’m sure that anyone who has been here since we started has been able to see the difference aesthetically (and hopefully in the writing too!)! I’ve put my heart and soul into this little project and am so excited to now not only continue jotting down my own thoughts and scribbles but to also launch my TIME TO TALK series coming soon.
We all forget to pat ourselves on the back sometimes when we should but this is me shamelessly doing it for once! I am so proud of this little blog and how far it’s come in such a small space of time. As something that only ever started as a little outlet for my brain and to keep in touch with some people back at home whilst I was off on my travels, now, although I’m still writing for me it’s turning into something much bigger and something I’m really excited to keep growing.
Thank you to anyone who has read any of my posts so far, I never thought that more than a couple of family members would read these posts so the fact that now there are so many people that tune in blows my mind!
Thank you, danke, dank je wel (and a small cheers to us!)
